John Flerlage Discusses Quality of Life

Our society has an obligation to care for those who sacrificed to protect us, to care for our children and to care for those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We must rehabilitate those who have done wrong so that they can become productive members of society. And we must protect the privacy rights of all persons, including a woman's right to choose.

I support:

  • Tightened standards to reduce mercury emissions.
  • Higher CAFE standards for automobile producers.

I support:

  • Conservation of water to include recycling.
  • Investment in sewage treatment.
  • Integrated water planning between communities.

I support:
  • Balancing the development of energy and mining resources with the protection of open space through collaborative planning by local, state, federal and industry representatives.
  • Ensuring that developers of new mines and sources of energy are responsible and held accountable for the clean up of their operations.
  • Protecting critical wildlife habitat.
  • Conservation easements.
  • Protecting habitat for hunters, shooters, and other recreational users of public lands.v
  • Recycling of solid waste, especially in neglected areas such as electronics.
