Congressional Candidate John Flerlage Receives Teamsters and Sheet Metal Workers Endorsements.

(Littleton, CO, July 13, 2010) – Flerlage for Congress announces that Colorado Teamsters Local 455 and Sheet Metal Workers’ Local #9 have endorsed John Flerlage, the Democratic Nominee for U.S. Congress in Congressional District Six.  Both endorsements follow the announcement last week of Flerlage’s endorsement by Colorado AFL-CIO.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) represents more than 1.4 million men and women in a broad array of industries and occupations, and has long been a part of American workers’ fight for dignity and fairness in the workplace.

Sheet Metal Workers' International Association (SMWIA), represents 150,000 skilled craftpersons throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Sheet Metal Workers are highly trained and skilled, performing architectural sheet metal work, fabrication, installation, and service of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, shipbuilding, rail work and more.

Of these endorsements, Flerlage says, “Working families across America have been devastated by the irresponsible economic policies of the previous administration -- $17 trillion of household wealth was lost during the recent recession.  To move this country and our economy forward, we must implement policies that invest in people, energy and trade, so that this and future generations of workers and businessmen can once again prosper. With the support of the Teamsters and Sheet Metal Workers for my campaign, we move another step closer to ensuring that CD 6 will actually participate in that future.”
