CD 6 Democrat Earns National, State and Local Fire Fighter Support
(Littleton, CO, June 18, 2010) – Flerlage for Congress announces that the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters (CPFF) voted unanimously on May 24, 2010, at the statewide Delegates meeting, to endorse John Flerlage, the Democratic Nominee for U.S. Congress in Congressional District Six. In the letter of endorsement, Randall Atkinson, President of CPFF, stated, “The Colorado Professional Fire Fighters support you in this great endeavor.”
CPFF is a local site of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), which earlier endorsed Flerlage, in April, 2010. The IAFF was formed in 1918 to unite fire fighters—for better wages, improved safety, and greater service for their communities. The IAFF is now the primary advocate for providing fire fighters and paramedics with the tools they need to perform their jobs
Following closely on the heels of the CPFF’s endorsement, Flerlage received word that Littleton Fire Fighters Local 2086 has also endorsed his candidacy. Local 2086 is affiliated with the Colorado A.F.L.-C.I.O., the Denver Area Labor Federation, and the Colorado Professional Fire Fighters.
Flerlage said of the multiple endorsements, “All fire fighters take their jobs seriously, but these firemen and women are truly professionals and have taken special training and formed special teams to deal with any emergency which may arise,” said Flerlage. He added, “Their faith in me to represent them in Congress is not misplaced. I will work as hard as they do to be the best Representative I can be, for my district, this State, and our country. I look forward to working with them as the campaign progresses.”
